Poetry Tips: The Dead Poets Society

I cannot believe it has taken me this many years to finally see the movie, Dead Poets Society, but it has and it was excellent! So this week I urge you to check it out either at your local library or video store because it is a wonderful movie with passion for life and poetry.

May you be inspired those of you who watch the movie and please drop in next week for another poetry site…

Justin,

You are lucky to own it, I'll be adding it to my Christmas Wish List this year. As for the sweaty-toothed mad man, that's a great line for a poem evoking strange images of sweating teeth. I hope you post pics somewhere for me to find, thanks for the laugh!

After watching the film I started reading "Leaves of Grass" which I still read from time to time so great and symphonic in the enthusiasm they convey and then....The Horace thing the film breathes...here in Italy it became a myth, the fleeting present moment. Catch it, catch it, there's nothing ever to postpone....

Tommaso--I need to read Leaves of Grass. I tried to read it years ago but wasn't ready for it, now I think I may be.
