Out of Order

Sorry folks, there really aren’t any poets who have passed on left in the library. I’d rather buy the books of poets who are still living as they need the funds more than dead ones. So for now the Tuesday feature is suspended until I come up with something else. Any suggestions? Let me know!

Also, I have plenty of responses to my Poetry Tips and do not need any more, thanks to everyone who answered!

Thanks for dropping in, please stop by tomorrow for poems found by Poet Hound…

What about the dead poets who have stuff posted on-line? Maybe if you posted a list of who you've done then we could offer a few suggestions.

Jim,
That could work, let me see what I can come up with for the following Tuesday regarding which poets who've passed I have featured. Thanks!

You could do poetry book reviews, post some of your own poetry, or make Tuesdays a "wild card" day. Maybe some Tuesdays you could just post an inspirational painting or something like that....

Thanks for all you do, by the way. I enjoy the daily posts, and my favorites is the open submission lit mags...they go into my favorites if they aren't already there.

Talia,
Thanks for the ideas. I posted my own poems a long while back and wasn't sure anyone was all that interested. I love having feedback and I'm glad the Open Submissions section is your favorite. I like the inspirational paintings idea, may delve into that idea over this upcoming weekend. I like reading yours and Jim Murdoch's blogs, keeps me up-dated on poetry news and trends as well as seeing what poets do in their every day lives besides my own...

hi poet hound,

thanks so much for the heart-warming note you left at my blog.

you might like to do ellen bass (http://www.ellenbass.com/) -- and here's a link to my favorite poem in her book, "mules of love": http://lifespeed.blogspot.com/2006/05/thing-is.html

i'm terrible fond of "lucky wreck" by ada limon (http://adalimon.blogspot.com/) -- some of her poems there appeared in tarpaulin sky, i think.

hope this helps.

all my best,
a.

Arlene,
So happy to hear from you again! I loved the poem by Helen Bass. I also adore the poem by Ada Limon, "The Lessing Table." I give you all my best and hope your heart is continually healing since your loss.
