Sorry everyone, Tropical Storm Faye interrupted internet service so it delayed today's post, but now it's up so check it out:
Today’s idea stems from a story by NPR talking about our left and right sides of the brain being two separate selves within our body and how we literally dictate our own ever evolving story to ourselves to make sense of it.
So I ask all of you to write a poem about yourselves detailing the dichotomy of your left and right brain. Perhaps you love/hate someone in your family or friends, maybe you can’t make up your mind about re-locating to a new town or city, maybe you argue with yourself in the grocery store—all of it is possible material for this type of poem.
Good luck to all who try it out!
Thanks for stopping in, please drop in Sunday for another Sunday Edition…
Intriguing thought, but I think I have too much on at present. However, I will pop the idea into my notebook and hopefully use it at a later date. Thanks for it.
ReplyDeleteI hope Faye is otherwise leaving you alone...
ReplyDeleteMr. King, an abundance of thought is always a blessing for poetry, hope this idea helps on a creative "rainy day" for you.
ReplyDeleteTalia,
Faye has dropped some heavy tree limbs but luckily has missed our vehicles! I hope she leaves for good soon, she has worn out her welcome. Otherwise lots of needed rain has been a plus so far with Faye.
